Overview

This online training explores the effects of container baby syndrome, with a focus on the adverse developmental impacts it has on infants, how to prevent it, and how to treat it.

Objective

1.1 a. Understands the importance of physical health on children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and motor development.
1.1 i. Applies relationship-based practices and family-centered practices to support the family in reducing risks that may negatively affect child health and development.
1.6 b. Creates opportunities for children to practice skills supporting the age-appropriate development of coordination, balance, movement, and strength:
-Locomotion skills: rolling, crawling, walking, running, jumping, climbing, hopping, galloping, skipping
-Stability skills: turning, twisting, sitting, bending, stretching, reaching, lifting, balancing
-Object control: grasp and release, bilateral use of body, midline, construction, ball play
2.2 e. Communicates regularly with families to share the accomplishments of the child, answer questions, discuss activities and progress. 3.1 b. Assesses children's progress across all developmental domains
3.3 c. Values family input in the assessment process
3.3 d. Responds to family requests and decisions regarding their child's progress
5.2 c. Ensures all materials and equipment for use by children, both indoors and outdoors, are safe
5.2 f. Understands and follows safe sleep practices and communicates information to families.
