Overview
This training will focus on lesson planning. We will discuss what is a lesson plan, the planning process, who is involved in that process, as well as the information that needs to be included on a lesson plan. This training will also look at the differences between an individualized plan and a group plan. 
Objective
Child Growth and Development  
1.2 Applies the process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to support children's growth through developmentally appropriate practices.

e. Works with families and related professionals to create goals for individual children and for groups of children
f. Spends time in thoughtful preparation before implementing experiences and interventions

i. Tracks and documents children's development using a variety of formal and/or informal assessment tools (i.e., screening tools, photography, video, anecdotal records, work samples, dictation, transcription) 
o. Implements individualized interventions, modifications, and accommodations to help children meet developmental and learning goals, as needed
p. Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions, modifications, and accommodations to help children meet developmental and learning goals

g. Builds on children’s natural curiosity, deepens children’s knowledge and awareness, and sustains active engagement with ideas and materials

i. Helps children express ideas and apply prior knowledge by extending an activity in which they show interest
k. Provides opportunities for children to practice emerging skills by revisiting experiences and materials
l. Uses authentic assessment information to adapt the level of support, strategies, and materials necessary to meet a child’s individual needs
Additional Information
Proof of Learning: There is a proof of learning quiz attached to this training. It will be available to you on WV STARS after you have attended the training and participated at least 80% of the activities.

Additional Important Information about this training session:
Late Policy:  All trainings begin promptly at the scheduled time.  If you do not arrive by the time the session starts, you will not be permitted to enter the training session.
If you miss a significant portion of the training session, you will not receive credit for the session. 

Guidelines for Live Online Trainings
•Sign in 10-15 minutes prior to the start time of the training but no earlier than 15 minutes.  If you arrive later than 15 minutes you will not receive credit for the training or be permitted to access the training.
•Download handouts prior to the training (print if able to do so)
•Arrive prior to the start of the session, stay on for the whole training and be engaged for at least 80% of the session. Take notes. Participate in any polls, discussions, and activities. IF unable to use your microphone, participate through chat box.  
•Close out of all other applications.
•During the session, if you are not currently talking mute your microphone by clicking on the audio icon at the bottom of the screen. You can unmute when you need to participate. 
•You can log in on a smart device by downloading the app for the training platform (ex: Go To Meeting or Go To Training). You Cannot use call in option only.  You can use audio in conjunction with logging in on the platform app if you are having audio issues. 
•There should only be one person per device, if there is more than one participant on a device, only one person will receive WV STARS credit. You will log in with your WV STARS link that is e-mailed to you.  Links cannot be shared.
•When entering the training put your full name as it appears in WV STARS. (You can do this by clicking on the three dots (…) on the right corner of your picture. It will give you the option to edit your name or e-mail. 
•Please do not attend trainings while caring for children.
•Inform presenter of any technical issues.
•If you need follow up technical assistance, we can connect you with the appropriate professional development team member. If you are not in the region we serve, we can direct you to someone in your region. 
•Be respectful to the presenter and other attendees when typing in the chat box or speaking. 
•You must complete and pass the post- test through WV STARS at the end of the session to receive credit.
•Complete the WV STARS survey after the session to receive your certificate of completion.
•Check your WV STARS profile to make sure your information is correct.
•If you are unable to attend a session you have registered for, please go to WV STARS and unregister for the session 48 hours prior to the session date. 
•All training sessions will be recorded for quality assurance purposes.
